Flood Mitigation Design, Project Management & Consultation

Ed and Joe have undertaken planning, design, project management and landowner and community consultation on Flood Mitigation Projects in Moree, Myrtleford, Charlton, Castlemaine, Wangaratta and Holbrook. We are currently working on flood mitigation projects in Narrandera, Walla Walla and Jindera.

Ed delivered a paper at the 2019 Floodplain Management Australia conference in Canberra sharing the key learnings from his levee experiences. These learnings included early accurate cost estimates, landowner consultation, drainage behind the levee and understanding key timeframes around funding and planning scheme amendments. Ed followed up this with a presentation at the 2021 conference which shared tips on land owner consultation for flood mitigation projects.

This experience can be utilised for:

  • Community consultation

  • Accurate cost estimation

  • Design review

Project Management

Ed has over 20 years’ experience in engineering consulting and works management with the last 10 years heavily focused on Project Management while working at Cardno and Thiess Services. Joe, based in our Adelaide office, has over a decade of consultancy experience delivering stormwater infrastructure projects.

Delivery of small and large infrastructure projects such as flood levees, WSUD and drainage projects has been a feature of the last 5 years working in consultancy. These projects have involved multiple investigations including survey and geotechnical investigations and extensive stakeholder management with the community and landowners.

Dryside Engineering offers two types of Project Management:

  • Project Management (external and internal contract in Councils / Government Authorities & private developers)

  • Project Assistance / Rescue – revitalising and saving projects that have been dragging on or haven’t had enough time or resources to make happen

Project management can be undertaken onsite, offsite or at your office so as to be directly accessible for questions and assistance. We are happy to work as part of a larger project team and manage other appointed consultants.
